Dr Anthony Bannon (GDC 194520) is the Practice Principal and graduated from Cardiff University in 2010.


After completing Vocational Training in Llantwit Major he moved to Glasgow spending a further year working in the University Dental Hospital treating complicated root canal cases, before settling at a busy family practice in South Ayrshire.


He successfully passed his MFDS examinations and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow. 


He enjoys all aspects of dentistry particularly cosmetic fillings, tooth whitening and crowns and putting nervous patients at ease. He lives locally with his wife and two young daughters and spends his free time competing in triathlon, running and following Ulster Rugby and Manchester United.

David Tan dentist

David Tan - Dentist (GDC  271720) joined the practice in 2020. Graduating from Cardiff School of Dentistry in 2017 with Honours, he enjoys all aspects of dentistry but seeks particular pleasure in making restorations appear as natural as possible. 

Outside of work David is a keen artist and loves everything to do with food: cooking and eating!

Dr Christine Bannon (GDC 243668) graduated from the University of Glasgow. After achieving a First Class Honours in Biomedical Science she pursued a career in Dentistry.

Having completed post graduate training in Paediatric dentistry, Orthodontics & Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery while passing her Royal College exams (MFDS RCPSG) Christine decided to work alongside Anthony in setting up a family dental practice. 

Christine also teaches undergraduate dental students in Cardiff University on a part time basis. 

As the orthodontic provider in the practice, she offers both Six Month Smiles and Invisalign


Michelle Thomas - is our Receptionist, and joined the practice in June 2010 in what was meant to be a temporary role but after nearly 9 years she is a permanent fixture!


"I have seen so many patients grow up from babies and have come to know a lot of our lovely patients and do my best to make them feel at ease whilst waiting for treatment. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and catching up with friends."


Cheryl James (GDC 6740) is our dedicated Hygienist.


Cheryl started her career in dentistry as a dental nurse and soon discovered she had a keen interest in seeing the hygienist help patients to maintain healthy mouths and prevent dental problems such as gingivitis and periodontal problems.

After gaining experience in the field of dentistry in London, working as a dental nurse, Cheryl was accepted on the hygienist course based in Cardiff bringing her back to the green grass of home.

Cheryl qualified as a dental hygienist in 2005 and continues to help patients to maintain teeth for life by means of education and treatment planning based on individual patient needs to achieve excellent results.

In her spare time, Cheryl likes to unwind by walking her fur babies , looking after her 2 young boys and socialing with friends. qualified from Cardiff University in 2008.


Ellis Carter - Dental Nurse (GDC 260737 ) 

Ellis qualified as a dental nurse in 2015, and has worked in both the practice setting and educating trainee dental nurses.

She especially enjoys working in practice and seeing regular patients throughout the year.

In her spare time Ellis enjoys spending time with her partner and young daughter, going to local restaurants and walks on Penarth pier.

Saffron Lovell - joined the practice in 2020 to start her dental nursing career. She is currently working towards gaining the Dental Nursing Diploma Level 3. 

"Dental nursing is very different compared to my last job where I worked as Cabin Crew. I am really enjoying my new role and I thoroughly enjoy learning whilst working."

Outside of work Saffron enjoys socialising with family and friends and loves taking her puppy out along the Welsh Coastal Path.
